Arizona Council on Economic Education

The Arizona Council on Economic Education (ACEE) is a 501(C)3 nonprofit organization dedicated to improving economic and personal financial literacy in Arizona.  ACEE is the only organization in Arizona which: provides teacher professional development in teaching personal finance and economics; has a strong, affiliated academic base with universities and community colleges; and distributes proven nonproprietary economic education curriculum resources to schools free of charge. ACEE trains approximately 2000 teachers and reaches 300,000 students annually. It has served over 2400 schools across 104 cities in Arizona. The Arizona Council of Economic Education is an affiliate of the national Council for Economic Education.

Our Vision

The ACEE envisions a world where all school-aged children are empowered through economic and personal financial literacy to make informed and rational choices throughout their lives as consumers, savers and investors, workers, entrepreneurs, citizens, and participants in a global economy.

Our Mission

To reach and teacher every Arizona student to become financially and economically responsible in work and life.

Our Strategy

Our strategy to deliver the programs and services is three-fold: training Arizona K-12 teachers, direct service to students and community outreach. By empowering teachers and parents who are most involved in children’s daily lives, change in children’s financial literacy and economic education is more sustainable.

Our Programs

Training Arizona K-12 teachers: ACEE conducts comprehensive K-12 economic and personal finance education in alignment with Arizona Department of Education standards for each grade level. We reach 2000 teachers annually, impacting approximately 300,000 students.

Direct service to students: statewide Stock Market Game, Personal Finance Challenge and Economics Challenge competitions for K-12 students.  More than 10,000 students participate in these competitions each year.  Arizona teams have placed top places at the national level. 60% of students are low income or at-risk.

Community Outreach: Outreach to low income schools to conduct parent and children financial literacy after-school programs.
