Announcing the 2021 EconChallenge!
Add Some Excitement to Your Economics and Business Classes!
All PA schools are eligible to participate!
The Economics Challenge is an opportunity for students to demonstrate their knowledge of economics by competing with other students in Pennsylvania in written online examinations with the hope to make it through to the National Championships to be held ONLINE!
Through the on-line competition, each team (of up to four students in two divisions) will complete online exams that cover topics in macro, micro and international economics.
The Adam Smith Division is restricted to students enrolled in courses labeled AP, IB, honors, differentiated, or college level. Any economics course as a two-semester course also falls in this division.
The David Ricardo Division is restricted to students enrolled in one-semester or less high school courses, not labeled as AP, IB, honors, differentiated, or college level.
Register on January 8th for the free practice session PA EconChallenge ONLINE!
To qualify for states, students must register and complete the online test between January 7 - March 19, 2021. Once you register, you will be able to create your student teams. See more information in the How It Works link (left).
Online competition dates can be found on the Dates and Times page (left). Once it begins, students from around the state will be able to demonstrate their economic literacy through an online rapid fire exam.
The top team from the Adam Smith and David Ricardo divisions will advance to The National Economics Challenge Semi-Finals. The semi-finals are also ONLINE (May 3 - May 20, 2021) and the top teams in each division nationally, will be invited to the National EconChallenge Finals ONLINE (May 22 - 24, 2021).
